2026 Legislation


The following retirement bills were filed for consideration in the 2026 regular session of the Florida Legislature.

SB 60 Criminal Conflict and Civil Regional Counsel Membership in the Senior Management Service Class; Providing that participation in the Senior Management Service Class of the Florida Retirement System is compulsory for each district’s assistant regional counsel supervisors, beginning on a specified date, etc.
 
SB 474 Revising the authorization to be granted a leave of absence for military service to include the Coast Guard; revising the authorization to be granted a leave of absence for reserve or guard training to include members of the Florida State Guard; specifying that an authorization for a leave of absence for all employees of the state and the counties, municipalities, and political subdivisions of the state to perform active military service for a specified timeframe is based on a single order; deleting positions from the Department of Military Affairs from compulsory participation in the Senior Management Service Class, etc. .
